While many professional skiers define themselves by their skiing, for big mountain and halfpipe phenom, Jamie Sundberg, skiing dominance is just another stop along an epic highway.
Jamie began skiing when she was two with her ski instructor parents at Grand Targhee, Wyo. By high school, bashing gates lost its appeal and Jamie took up snowboarding. She gained notoriety in that sport, as a Burton team athlete and competed in halfpipe competitions worldwide.
Jamies love of deep powder and steep lines has afforded her opportunities to live in some of North Americas most infamous ski townsAlyeska, AK, Bozeman, Mont., Sun Valley, Ida., Jackson, Wyo., and currently, Vail, Colo.
Jamies decision to move to Colorado is the culmination of a 5 year skiing experiment. In 1998, Jamie was offered a pair of twin-tips to test at Windells Camp in Mt. Hood, Ore., where she was a snowboard coach. Jamie seamlessly brought the amplitude, grace and confidence that characterized her snowboarding to skiing and has barely looked back. Of course, she gets on her board every once in awhile, and many remark that shes more comfortable on one stick than two.
Countless halfpipe podiums and big mountain accolades later, Jamie has brought her passion and talent to Copper Mountain Resort, where she will represent the Freeride Team with the same grace and enthusiasm that distinguish her skiing. Look for her throwing back to back 5s and landing Misty Flips while maintaining her Courtney Cox sex appeal.
Jamies skiing is fueled by some of the sports most prestigious sponsors: The North Face, Salomon and Copper Mountain Resort.
